  • 2. Gush of dollars set to hit India as emerging markets close gates
India is probably the only major developing nation in the world that is still holding back from restrictions on fund flows.
The rupee rose 0.9% to 44.12 per dollar to a two-year high as global investors poured in a record $22 billion into Indian stocks.
Thailand this week joined Brazil and South Korea in imposing curbs on overseas flows that were distorting trade as the US is set to ease controls and China stuck to its stand near fixed yuan exchange rates.

For investors waiting to hear more positive commentary from Infosys, even 200% special dividend commemorating the company’s thirtieth year, failed to bring any cheer.

About 30 persons have committed suicide in the last 45 days, apparently due to the coercive methods of Micro-Finance Institutions (MFIs) in Andhra Pradesh.

It prohibits the MFIs from employing anyone without an identity card for the purpose of recovery and said recovery personnel should only ask for payment of loans in a public place.
