In choosing wedding invitations for summer weddings, you might want to consider a particular theme in keeping with the warmest season of the year; maybe a nice “beach” or nautical style would go nicely along with some summery wedding favors indicative of the summer months and the implications of “hot romance.”
Summer weddings have always been popular. In fact, the most popular date of all time, July 7, 2007, unfortunately, has already passed. Yep…that’s right: 777. It’s true superstition often rules in the selecting of such “red-letter” dates as the day when your wedding will take place, so other up-coming dates are September 9, 2009 [though we’re not sure of the significance of 999], or “Sweetest Day” on October 17, 2009.
But if your date preferences aren’t so influenced by symbolism or other such meaning, making arrangements are traditionally—and wisely—set well in advance, with six months being the bare minimum for less popular venues, but most probably one year reservations are to be expected.
So if you were hoping to hold your wedding ceremony and reception this summer…unless you happen to know someone, personally, who owns a large meeting hall or convention center…you may have to hold yours during some unusual, off-hours or settle on a smaller event, in a smaller place, with fewer guests.
But if your love is strong, and you really have your heart set on a summer wedding in some place remarkable (and popular), you would be wise to make your plans for next summer…right now. At least you’ll have ample time to order the wedding invitations, favors, and wedding cards you’re hoping for, and your invitees should have a clear schedule from which they can positively RSVP their assured presence.
