2. Movies!
! Currently all campuses have licensing to show movies through
Movie Licensing USA. This allows a campus to show certain
movies for rewards & entertainment.!
! Movies and clips of movies should always be used under fair use
guidelines unless a license is purchased.!
! A new permission to show movies form has been created to
support the code of best practices in fair use, and would only be
needed for rewards & entertainment approvals. Clips for
instructional use do not need approval and some educational
versions of films can be purchased through the librarian.!

4. Copying Materials!
! All copiers in the district should have a copyright notice posted,
reminding users of their responsibilities.!
! As a district we need to be sure we are abiding by publishers
permissions - not copying consumables, for instance, when the
publisher intends for the district to purchase enough for each
student each year.!
5. So can we use copyrighted
material??!
! Copyright instruction often leads to copy confusion! Renee
Hobbs has created a slide show called
Copyright Clarity: How Fair Use Supports Digital Learning. !
! A Code of Best Practices for Fair Use in Media Literacy
Education simplifies and clarifies for teachers what they can do
with copyrighted materials.!
! Specific fair use guidelines can be found for those who feel they
need them, but remember they are guidelines only, not law.!
