  • Opening / Viewing Folders
      • Explorer opens anytime you click My Computer, My Documents, My Pictures or an other location from the Start Button.
      • You may search for these items when you click Search.
      • There are many ways to search My Documents.
  • Deleting Files
      • Click once to choose the item you wish to delete.
      • You may either press the Delete Key or choose Delete from the Task Pane on the Left.

      • From the Control Panel, select from a listing of directories and files located in your Current Directory, the path of which is displayed in the listing above.
      • When in a directory that has a large number of files, the files are listed alphabetically by file name. Sometimes, it is desirable to see the listing of files sorted by the time (date) of their creation or by the size of the files, from largest to smallest.
      • Each directory and file within the listing will appear as a hypertext link. In the image above, links appear blue and underlined. Simply click on any link to drill down into that directory. In the case of a file, clicking on its link will open the file (if it can be opened by the browser).
      • To move "back" one directory, click on the Parent Dir link.

        • To get to the Folder Options dialog box and make selections that will affect all folders and files, Click the Start button, choose Control Panel, and open the Folders Options icon.

        • To change the icon for a file type, click the Start button, choose Control Panel, and open the Folder Options icon. Click the file type you want to change, click the Edit button, and then click the Change Icon button.
