Empowerment as an approach(Parasons, 1991; Parsloe, 1995 & Kam 1997) social workers will concern client’s individual situation. Gradually, social worker will group the clients together and advocate them for fighting back their power. Empowerment as a process(Wong, 1997; Chiu 1999) for mobilizing the disadvantage groups for regain the human right and citizenship. they are oppressed by the ideology of society, the failure, non-profit and negative label are posted on them. The process of empowerment may arise their competence for solving their situation step by step. 10/09/09 CELINE, HENRY, SUEDIP The Drug Abuse Treatment Outcome Study (DATOS), the most recent long-term study of drug treatment outcomes, showed that those who successfully completed treatment in a TC had lower levels of cocaine, heroin, and alcohol use; criminal behavior; unemployment; and indicators of depression than they had before treatment.
