1. 1. Concise Awareness on Engineering
2. 2. ENGINEERING??????
What is Engineering?
How to get into Engineering?
Qualifications for getting into Engineering?
Use of getting a degree in Engineering?
Concentration of subjects at school level.
Conceptual study of subjects.
Core companies and placements.
3. 3. What Is Engineering??
Engineering is the discipline, art and profession of acquiring and applying technical, scientific, and mathematical knowledge to design and implement materials, structures, machines, devices, systems, and processes that safely realize a desired objective or invention.
In other words, the branch of study which deals with the practical application of science is known as engineering.
4. 4. How To Get Into Engineering??
There are 2 ways of getting into engineering:
Through competitive examinations like EAMCET, AIEEE, IIT-JEE, BITSAT, VITEEE, SRM-EEE, etc.
Every state has it’s own engineering entrance test like K-CET, MH-CET, etc.
Through lateral entry into 2nd year, after completing Diploma in any field.
5. 5. Qualifications To Get Into Engineering
Should pass 10+2 with a minimum aggregate of 60%
The stream of 10+2 should have Mathematics and Physics as main subjects
For the 2nd method:
Should pass Diploma with a minimum aggregate of 60% upon which the candidate is eligible to join as a Lateral Entry.
6. 6. Different Branches In Engineering.
AERONAUTICAL ENGG.
ARCHITECTURE
BIO-TECHNOLOGY ENGG
BUISNESS ADMINISTRATION.
CHEMICAL ENGG.
CHEMISTRY
CIVIL ENGG.
COMPUTER SC. & ENGG.
ELECTRCALS & ELECTRONICS ENGG.
ELECTRICAL ENGG.
ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION ENGG.
ELECTRONICS AND INSTRUMENTATION ENGG
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
AGRICULTURAL
MATERIAL
TEXTILE
Just to name a few…………………..
7. 7. Use Of Getting A Degree In Engineering.
You are rarely in a position where you simply cannot find a job — the world needs more and more engineers all the time.
An engineering degree is a great launch pad for careers in business, humanities, and even the civil services.
Indian engineers are more likely to get scholarships for further studies in the US than any other graduates. Hence, if you want to study and/or work abroad at some point in your life, then engineering is the career for you.
8. 8. Concentration Of subjects At School Level
Thorough study of subjects like Mathematics, physics, chemistry.
Proper knowledge of every subject by conceptual study.
Special care is to be taken so that you gain a proper grip over English.
Usage, grammar and vocabulary should be development at the same time in English is essential.
9. 9. What is Conceptual Study?
Simply speaking, it is gaining the essence of the subject being delivered.
Proper understanding of the subject being studied.
By hearting the subject doesn’t always help.
Understanding the inner meaning of the subject helps you reproduce it in a better manner when required.
10. 10. What To Do After Completing Engineering???
The Million Dollar Question……
11. 11. Placements
IT & Electronics, e.g.: Microsoft, Motorola, WIPRO, Infosys, etc.
Chemical industries, e.g.: HLL, Thapar’s, Dr Reddy’s, Reliance, etc.
Manufacturing industries, e.g.: Maruti, Godrej, TISCO, etc.
Infrastructure industries, e.g.: Siemens, L&T, Texas Instruments, etc.
Research Labs, e.g.: BARC, ISRO, DRDO, etc.
12. 12. Institutions Based On Engineering
Institute Of Electrical And Electronic Engineers
Association for Computing Machinery
Institution Of Electronics And Telecommunication Engineers
Institution Of Engineering and Technology
Indian Society For Technical Education
