  • Main problem Young people between the ages of 8 and 18 often turn their back on their sports club for good; Young people rarely participate in community sports activities; The culture in schools is not always sufficiently youth-oriented. Why is this? The available sports are not geared to the wishes, needs and lifestyle of the youth. Adults tend to think about young people instead of with them. The culture within some organisations is not very youth-oriented. Young people do not have close ties with sports clubs even if they are members; There are many preconceptions regarding young people. What can you do? More school sports commissions; More youth councils that have an influence with the local authorities; More young committee members in sports clubs; Youth sports commissions in communities More adoption of street sports facilities.

    • A suitably qualified coach
    • An activity budget of at least EUR 500 for the whoZnext team
    • Outfit for members of the whoZnext team (EUR 50 each)
    • EUR 500 for the whoZnext training
    • In terms of prolonging activities, adequate support for and embedment of the whoZnext team

    • Provincial sports councils, sports federations and training courses on sports and physical activity want to remain involved with whoZnext
    • T he l ow-threshold t raining (simulation game) is rated highly by coaches, supervisors and leaders and youngsters

    • The overall theme for 2011 is to transfer knowledge to intermediaries, i.e.through expert meetings, train the trainer courses

  • 35. 5 reasons for getting involved... 1. Youngsters enjoy organising sports themselves, and you know at once that you are addressing their needs and wishes 2. WhoZnext is actively engaged in the media and has a positive image from which organisations can benefit 3. WhoZnext has developed various youth participation tools that a coach needs to have on board
