  2. 2. Managing oneself <ul><li>Manage yourself by knowing your strengths ,values and where you do best . Then use feedback analysis by , first ,recording what you expect the results of key actions or decisions to be ,and then nine months or a year later ,comparing the actual results to those expectations </li></ul>
  3. 3. The “Score”in Information Based Organisations <ul><li>Have a common “score” for your organization that clearly states management’s performance expectations for the enterprise and for each specialist ,and that compares expectations to results </li></ul>
  4. 4. Work <ul><li>Work is an extension of personality . It is achievement . It is one of the ways in which a person defines himself or herself ,measures his worth and his humanity . Don’t let your self-respect be undermined by being unemployed . Remind yourself that there are other ways to define yourself besides work </li></ul>
  5. 5. Goal and Vision for Work <ul><li>“All my life as a musician ,I have striven for perfection .It has always eluded me .I surely had an obligation to make one more try ”- Verdi </li></ul><ul><li>Strive for perfection in your work knowing that it will always elude you </li></ul>

Civilizing the Society <ul><li>Only the social sector can create what we now need ,communities for citizens –and specially for the highly educated knowledge workers who increasingly dominate developed societies . One reason for that is that only non-profit organisations can provide the enormous diversity of communities we need –from churches to professional associations ,from organisations taking care of the homeless to health clubs </li></ul><ul><li>Reflect on how your favourite non-profits can help create new communities in cities </li></ul>
