• 1. Belgian Scientists have Successfully Created Lung Tissue from Stem Cells By Dominic Ansel, Giancarlo Schliemann, and Vahimir Emile
 • 2.

Just recently Belgian Scientists have successfully taken embryonic stem cells, cells from an early stage fetus, and have been able to recreate human lung tissue with them

 • 3.

It was thought that lung tissue could only regenerate itself. Stem cells can help regenerate lung tissue much faster, and more effectively.

 • 4. How embryonic stem cell research works
 • 5. The Pros and Cons

Even though stem cells help regenerate lung tissue, the do not completely heal it

 • 6.

Stem cells have great potential for a way to help tissue regeneration, but they have been limited because they do not produce enough growth factors after the are transplanted into the body

 • 7.

The stem cells help generate blood vessels, allowing the tissue to survive and regrow

 • 8.

Scientists have also been able to create heart tissue with stem cells
