Baron Pierre de Coubertin Baron Pierre de Coubertin was born in Paris France on january 1st 1863 and died on the second of september 1937. He was the president of the international olympics committee. He started his campeign in 1892. Not many people thought it was a good idea to start up the modern olympics but then he convinced enough people.He is responsible for the start of the olympic games in 1896, Athens Greece. There were 14 countries, 245 men that competed in the olympics.
