    • How to Fix a Amazon Kindle Fire Touch Screen Digitizer

    • Use your spudger to gently release the battery cable fromits connection. Press both sides away from theconnection and lift the cable away
    • With the battery connector released you can nowcarefully begin prying the battery from the inner frame.Be sure not to bend the battery. Three (3) strips ofadhesive will hold the battery in place. Use your nylonspudger to gently release this adhesive.
    • With the adhesivereleased you can nowremove the battery.Take note of the three(3) strips of adhesivewhich was used to holdthe battery to thedevice.
    • Using a smallPhillips screwdriver(#00) you can nowremove the two (2)screws holding thedigitizer flex cableto the main board.
    • Use your pry tool to gentlylift the white tab of the jawconnector for the touchscreen digitizer. With the clipin the upright position, thecable can be removed fromthe connection fully
    • Using a heat gun or hair dryer, begin warming the outside edges of thetouch screen on a LOW heat setting. Because the motherboard is still inplace you must use very light heat from 2-3 inches from the screen towarm the adhesive holding the touch screen to the outer frame. Use quick movements, not staying in one area for too long. Heating the screen should take around 30 seconds on LOW heat.
    • Using a pry tool or spudger, pry gently in between theglass and the inner bezel. Slide the pry tool along theoutside edges, releasing the adhesive. Be cautious ofthe digitizer flex cable.Do not stick your pry tooltoo deep into the device,as you may damage theLCD screen or otherinternal components.Work your way along alledges, releasing theadhesive, reheating onLOW heat if necessary
    • With all the adhesive released you can lift the touch screen awayfrom the inner frame and slide its flex cable through the slot inthe housing, removing it completely. You can now clean up anyleftover adhesive on the frame.
    • Prepare your new touch screen by removing all thecovers over the pre attached adhesive. With the coversremoved, give your LCD screen a final wipe to clearaway any dust.
    • Insert the digitizer flex cable through the slot in thehousing and align the screen over the frame. Applypressure to secure the new adhesive to the frame.
    • Insert the flex into the connectorand replace the two (2) smallPhillips screws.Once fully inserted, close the jawconnector.
    • Insert the battery cable back into its connectorUsing the original adhesive, secure the battery back into thehousing by applying pressure around the edges. Be sure notto bed or damage the battery
    • Once the internals are set you can now place the coverover the device and apply pressure along the edges topop the case securely back on your Kindle Fire.
