  •  The iTouch 2nd and 3rd generation are nearlyidentical besides a few minor upgrades. If replacing the touch screen, the connectorwill be different from the 2nd to 3rd, howeverthe repair process is identical. Take note that the iPodTouch 3rd Generation8GB will use the 2nd Gen touch screen.   • Eventually you will be able to lift the full assembly. It is possible to removethe touch screen complete with the mid frame, however if this is your firstattempt, it will be unlikely.With the screen lifting, disconnect the flex cable, located on the top of themotherboard.This is a pop connector on both the 2nd and 3rd generation.   • Most will have part of the plastic mid frame still onthe sides and lower right, near the headphone jack.Use your spudger to lift this out of the device PRIORto installing your new screen.
  • On both gens youwill be able toattach your newscreen’s flex cableinto its connectorand power on thedevice to test itPRIOR to installing
  • Our touch screenassemblies will includethe mid frame, homebutton, and homebutton flex cable.Once tested, removethe interior screenprotector and wipe theLCD screen clear ofany prints or debris
  • Position the new touchscreen assembly over thedevice, insuring theconnection stay secure, andpress it firmly into thehousing. It will snap intoplace with a bit of pressure.
