There are couple problems here: - First, it is hard to use all functions through the single device at the same time. For example, it is hard to make call and watch video or play the game and take the picture at the same time. Using difference devices could solve this problem. - Second, Not everyone is a device savvy person. To manage all functions through one screen is to massive for most of consumers. Most people prefer one-button devices: cameras, players, consoles. - Third, in the future everything will be connected. Your bike, your pen, your player, your watches or your body. There is no reason to integrate the power-hungry wireless module to everywhere. PAD manages the connections for all of them.

    Verizon’s MiFi

Last week, Verizon released the MiFi 2200 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot, which is a hotspot that you can take with you anywhere. Basically, it picks up Verizon’s 3G Broadband service and distributes it to a WiFi device of your choice, just like a standard modem and router would. This thing is nifty in so many ways. One, it is small! The shape and size of a small stack of credit cards. That’ll fit in your pocket comfortably or in any conceivable nook and cranny of your laptop bag. Two, it shares! It supports up to five wireless devices at once sharing the same 3G Internet pipe. It is also device-independent, meaning any and all of your Wi-Fi devices are compatible with this little guy. So technically you could be using Verizon’s 3G service on your AT&T iPhone, if that concept tickles your fancy. Three, it’s simple. None of your wireless devices will require any special software or complicated setup of any kind. Just type in the security key that’s printed on the back of your MiFi when prompted to join the network. It really is that simple! The device is $99.99 after the $50 M.I.R. and data plans range from non-contract per-use to monthly plans starting at $39.99.

Mobile phones to be banned in French primary schools to limit health risks

Mobile telephones are to be banned from French primary schools, and operators must offer handsets that allow only text messages, under government measures to reduce the health risk to children. Companies will also be required to supply phones that work only with headsets, to limit the danger to the brain from electromagnetic radiation, Rosalyne Bachelot, the Health Minister, said.
