He is the Founder and Managing Partner of Technomics International Ltd –a UK based specialist science and innovation policy advisory, research, and implementationfirm. He is also the Founder of Research Network, Pakistan Innovation Foundation, andMuslim-Science.Com. Prior to this, Dr. Athar Osama was the Director of Middle East and Asiafor ANGLE plc. – a UK-based technology commercialisation and venture capital firm. At RAND Corporation, his workfocussed on defense innovation and he was part of the team that helped create the US Army Venture Capital Fund. In2005, Athar authored the first National Study of Pakistans Software Industry and has since written numerous studiesleading to greater awareness of evidence-based policy-making in the IT sector in Pakistan. In 2009, He was also the leadauthor of an article on Higher Education Reform in the prestigious journal, Nature. Recently, he has been a Consultant toThe Royal Society (UK) where he was the Lead Author for the Pakistan Country Study of the Atlas of Islamic WorldScience and Innovation (AIWSI) Study.
