2. Review Online Course Schedule
Step #1
• Review the Online Course Schedule located on the Saint Mary’s
University website.
• Check the Academic Calendar to see when registration begins.
(NOTE: Registration typically begins 8 weeks prior to the
semester start date.)
3. Log into WebTools

• Log into WebTools at https://webtools.smumn.edu/ once registration has
opened.
You will need to know your username and password to log into WebTools. This
information was provided to you in your admissions packet.
5. Select a Term

• Select the term you would like to register for and click the REGISTER button.
6. Search for Course

There are 3 ways to select course sections:
• Fast ADD Elections: will allow you to type in the exact course ID (ex. GM600A)
OR
• List ELIGIBLE Sections: will show you all courses available within your program
OR
• SEARCH to Add Elections: will allow you to search for available courses, just like the online course
schedule.
7. Adding the Course
Step #6
• Once you have found the course you are looking for, note the following:
Course location: Locations include Apple Valley, Minneapolis, Minnetonka, Oakdale, Rochester, and
Winona.
Course type: traditional (face-to-face sessions) or blended (face-to-face and online sessions)
Class meeting dates and time
• Select the ADD link to the left of the course ID.
8. Register Your Elections

• Note the course you added is now at the bottom of your registration page. Select the
REGISTER Your Elections link to register for the course.
*You will receive a confirmation email sent to your SMU email account within 24 hours confirming this registration.
9. Add to a Wait List
How to be added to a class wait list:
• If the class you are wanting to register for is full, then you have the option to be put on
the wait list.
• In order to do this, click the WAIT link and you will be added to the wait list.
• If a seat becomes available, then you will be automatically enrolled in the course and
notified via your Saint Mary’s University email account.
• Once the course has begun, students on the wait list will not be added to the class.
