Mark 16:8 (the original ending of Mark) Jesus sends message, “meet me in Galillee.” Fear and wonder. They said nothing. Matthew 28:16-20 Jesus has authority over everything. As you are going, make disciples of all nations. Luke 24 The Road to Emmaus…a journey of eyes being opened. Revealed in the “breaking of bread.” Healing and forgiveness, to which you are witnesses to all nations. John 20-21 The Father sent me, I send you, I breath the Holy Spirit on you. A meal, Peter forgiven, Peter commissioned to feed and follow.
In his life Jesus modeled the Kingdom. In his death Jesus opened the way to the Kingdom. In his resurrection Jesus empowered the Kingdom. We live in and anticipate the Kingdom as we are: gathered around the risen Jesus and sent in the power of the Holy Spirit, to the glory of the Father.
