Staff see the CEO using (appropriate) technologies, they want to use them”

  • Rich will ask, “John, I’ve established a 2.5 Million dollar IT fund, why haven’t you spent it all?” John responds, “because cost & spending does not provide our Association with value. We automate only after good analysis & documentation, we (as a group) select only 1 or 2 major projects per year to ensure success, we’ve kept costs down by standardizing equipment & software, change management allows us to plan & predict, in turn reducing cost. And lastly, one of the most important reasons for our IT reserve is to fund the complete replacement of our operational environment, when the time comes of course.”
