  • 1. Growing Up… And Growing Apart
    • By Stephanie Teuchert
    • Per. 1
  • 2. Introduction
    • Childhood maturity is a major part of life; every person must go through it and endure the bad times and the good times. I chose this topic because it is wonderful to see how a child’s mind can go from to innocent to mature and thinking critically in a matter of years. This will teach how complex the journey of growing older really is and what a challenge it can be. Ready… Set… Here we go…
  • 3.
    • Young children hide within their parents care. It is a place where they feel safe from harm and latch on to the protective feeling that the parents provide. No one can harm them.
  • 4.
    • When they start to get a little older, children enjoy venturing off and exploring news things without a care in the world. Their minds are not set on growing-up or thinking things through. Having fun is the main goal and things seem so simple.
  • 5.
    • That simplicity begins to dwindle away as children get a little older. They realize that their decisions start to affect not only themselves, but also those around them. Their emotions start to race along with confusing thoughts and feelings. They start to feel alone…
  • 6.
    • … So they try to find that companionship elsewhere. Being with another person who is going through the same things that they are gives them back that feeling of love and being wanted .
  • 7.
    • When the people that they confide in disappear or no longer give them the same feelings, they feel lost with no hope; drowning in a sea of emotions with no signs of ever reaching the surface.
  • 8.
    • After they have endured the hardships and grown from the pain, they realize that they need a helping hand at times. Life is hard enough; you don’t go through it alone.
  • 9. Conclusion
    • This project was really great for me. I was going through a hard time and this helped me reflect on everything that has happened and made me realize that I am not alone. Though I have to grow up, I know I don’t have to go through it alone. I learned that my friends are my saving grace and I need them to help me through this stage in my life, to catch me when I fall, and to pick me up when I’m defeated; as I would do for them. These are the people that I need in my life. Thank you to all of you: Nicole, Hannah, Fernando, Steven, Jessica, Cori, and Justin.
