  • Facebook is redefining privacy. Millions of people are connecting, conversing, sharing, commenting, liking, and LIVING…on Facebook…and they are forgetting that everyone is watching.
  • Pew Internet Research Study: Between 4/09 and 5/10, social networking among internet users btwn ages of 50-64 grew by 88%. 65 and older? 100%. Technology more user friendly and baby boomers are more technologically savvy.
  • 67 yr old Mother updating her FB status with photos and videos of nephew’s baseball game. Mobile is huge!
  • If prospects and clients are there, don’t you want to be a part of their world? You can by building a presence.
  • 80 million “name” searches per day on Google. What do your page one results show? Creating a page will give you a positive gateway for your brand. FB pages are public and searchable. Don’t even have to be a member to find it.

  • Most important tabs are Welcome and Wall. They get 90% of views. Need custom design and multiple calls to action to click your Like button! DO NOT DRIVE OFF OF FACEBOOK OR YOU WILL LOSE THEM!
  • Very critical to “personalize” your brand. Ultimately people do business with people, not companies. I’ve tested this quite a bit and much more successful inserting a face with your brand.
  • People want to be a part of something. They want to engage WITH you and with other like-minded people.
  • Get creative. Who are your clients? Choose the most dominant segment.
  • The Wall. Remember Welcome tab and wall get 90% of views? 80% of Facebook users NEVER return to your page.
  • Engagement can be Likes, Shares, Comments, Posts. Edward Jones disables comments and posts by others, and have right to remove anything. Still allowing “likes” and “shares” because they know this is what enables them to get into newsfeeds. Every post drives visitor offline.
  • Most of what Jeff posts are his own blog posts.
  • Act as an editor. Bring in interesting stories (links) that will get your community talking. Don’t just promote your own content.
  • The Wall. Remember Welcome tab and wall get 90% of views? 80% of Facebook users NEVER return to your page.
  • Need engagement to get into the newsfeed! IF many connections and likes difficult to do. Have to post consistently. 5xweek. Not overkill
  • Build community on the site that you own. Can Like you right there without leaving!
