Here we list the most anticipated or commendable movies and DVDs in the first and second half year of 2014, with release date, publisher, and movie plot: >> Good Movies in January 2014:  Jan.10: The Legend of Hercules (Millennium Films) This is an American action film about Greek myth directed by Renny Harlin and starring Kellan Lutz, who is best known for The Twilight Saga films. Hercules is the son of Zeus and a queen who promised to overthrow the tyrannical rule of the king and restore peace. Betrayed by his stepfather, the King, and exiled and sold into slavery because of a forbidden love to Hebe, Princess of Crete, Hercules must use his formidable powers to fight his way back to his kingdom.  Jan.17: The Nut Job (Gulfstream Pictures) A 3D computer animated comedy film based on Surly Squirrel by Lepeniotis in 2005. A curmudgeon, independent but mischievous squirrel called Surely is banished to the city where he is not as adapted to living in as his park. He gets his luck, nevertheless, through a nut-store heist with the help of his rat friend. It saves the lives of his and also the whole park community. >> Good Movies in February 2014:  Feb.7: The Lego Movie (Warner Bros.) One of the must-watch animated movies in February 2014, especially for your kids. It is funny and adventurous based on the Lego line of construction toys. It’s a science fiction monster film featuring the Japanese film monster of the same name in a reboot of the Godzilla film franchise. This 2014 movie is expected to be popular. A giant radioactive monster called Godzilla appears to wreak destruction on mankind.  May 23: X-Men: Days of Future Past / X-Men: First Class 2 (Twentieth Century Fox, Marvel) This is another American superhero film, based on the fictional X-Men characters appearing in Marvel Comics. The X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods. The X-Men send Wolverine to the past in a desperate effort to change history and prevent an event that results in doom for both humans and mutants to change the past and to save their future >> Good Movies in June 2014:  Jun.11: Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (Chernin Entertainment) A reboot of 2011 movie Rise of the Planet of the Apes.  Jun.13: How to Train Your Dragon 2 (DreamWorks Animation) The sequel of How to Train Your Dragon!  Jun.13: 22 Jump Street (Columbia Pictures)  Jun.27: Transformers: Age of Extinction (Paramount Pictures) As a sequel to Transformers: Dark of the Moon, this sci-fi film is predicted to gain very high grossing (1,200 million) since there are so many Transformer fans.
