  • GRAY
    • We live in postmodern era => everything is RELATIVE
    • Line between black or white is blurry
    • We live in GRAY society, believe in moral relativism
    • Will create people who don’t know right or wrong
  • GRAY
    • 2 characteristics of GRAY society:
    • There was no King (believes NO absolute truth)
    • Everyone did what was right in their own eyes (believes in relative truth)
  • GRAY
    • There’s no absolute truth is a self-defeating statement
    • Absolute truth = narrow. Narrow is the nature of truth.
    • Truth may only have ONE right answer and MANY wrong answer
    • 1+1 = 2 not 5, 9 , 36, Law of Gravity
    • John 17:17 “Thy Word is Truth”
    • There is ABSOLUTE TRUTH
  • GRAY
    • Gray society will create people who are:
    • FEARFUL (Judges 4:1-9)
    • 1 After Ehud died, the Israelites once again did evil in the eyes of the LORD. 2 So the LORD sold them into the hands of Jabin, a king of Canaan, who reigned in Hazor. The commander of his army was Sisera, who lived in Harosheth Haggoyim. 3 Because he had nine hundred iron chariots and had cruelly oppressed the Israelites for twenty years, they cried to the LORD for help.

    • 4 Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lappidoth, was leading [a] Israel at that time. 5 She held court under the Palm of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim, and the Israelites came to her to have their disputes decided. 6 She sent for Barak son of Abinoam from Kedesh in Naphtali and said to him, "The LORD, the God of Israel, commands you: 'Go, take with you ten thousand men of Naphtali and Zebulun and lead the way to Mount Tabor.

    • 7 I will lure Sisera, the commander of Jabin's army, with his chariots and his troops to the Kishon River and give him into your hands.' "8 Barak said to her, "If you go with me, I will go; but if you don't go with me, I won't go.” 9 "Very well," Deborah said, "I will go with you. But because of the way you are going about this, [b] the honor will not be yours, for the LORD will hand Sisera over to a woman." So Deborah went with Barak to Kedesh,

    • 2 Timothy 1:7 For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.

    • Gray society will create people who are:
    • FAITHLESS (Judges 6:12-16)
    • 12 When the angel of the LORD appeared to Gideon, he said, "The LORD is with you, mighty warrior."13 "But sir," Gideon replied, "if the LORD is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all his wonders that our fathers told us about when they said, 'Did not the LORD bring us up out of Egypt?'
  • GRAY
    • But now the LORD has abandoned us and put us into the hand of Midian.”14 The LORD turned to him and said, "Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian's hand. Am I not sending you?” 15 "But Lord , [a] " Gideon asked, "how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family."16 The LORD answered, "I will be with you, and you will strike down all the Midianites together."

    • Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

    • Gray society will create people who are:
    • 3. SELF-INDULGING (Judges 14:1-3)
    • 1 Now Samson went down to Timnah, and saw a woman in Timnah of the daughters of the Philistines. 2 So he went up and told his father and mother, saying, “I have seen a woman in Timnah of the daughters of the Philistines; now therefore, get her for me as a wife.”
  • GRAY
    • 3 Then his father and mother said to him, “Is there no woman among the daughters of your brethren, or among all my people, that you must go and get a wife from the uncircumcised Philistines?”And Samson said to his father, “Get her for me, for she pleases me well.”

    • Judges 16:1, 4
    • 1 Now Samson went to Gaza and saw a harlot there, and went in to her. 4 Afterward it happened that he loved a woman in the Valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah.
    • Samson didn’t know how to say NO to his flesh.
    • Galatians 5 “ do not live by flesh because it’s against the Spirit. Fruit of the Spirit: self-control”
  • GRAY
    • A society which don’t believe in Absolute Truth will create people who don’t know between right or wrong and will become chaotic, confused, and eventually extinct.
    • Condition of the world we live in.
    • Romans 12:2 2Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
