Spirit Airlines Corporate Office: 5405 Oak Street, Miramar, Fl 33154 June 22, 2008 Contact: Name: Stephanie Torres-Public Relations Director Phone: (954) 695-8709 E-mail: StephanieTorres@spiritair.com Spirit Airlines Makes Flying Easy Spirit Airlines is one of the leading low-cost carriers in the travel industry today. Since its inception, it has consistently dedicated itself to being prominently low-priced while providing friendly and reliable service to its customers. The company’s ultra low-cost approach frees patrons from being forced into paying for added services they may not desire. Spirit Airlines was founded in 1980 in Eastpointe, Michigan. The company started out as Charter One, a Detroit-based charter tour operator providing travel packages to popular entertainment destinations such as Atlantic City, Las Vegas and the Bahamas. Ten years later, Charter One began scheduled service from Boston and Providence, R.I. to Atlantic City. In 1992, Charter One brought jet equipment into the fleet, changed its name to Spirit Airlines and began servicing airports from Detroit to Atlantic City. In 1993, Spirit set forth scheduled flights to several destinations in Florida. During the next five years, the airline took off rather quickly, increasing service from Detroit and adding service in new markets such as Myrtle Beach, S.C., Los Angeles and New York. Today, Spirit Air flies to 36 destinations across North America, South America and the Caribbean. It is also now the largest carrier at the Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. Through some of its membership programs, customers are able to redeem points toward a discounted flight on Spirit Air. Amongst these programs are the “Free Spirit Membership Club” and the “$9 Fare Club.” Free Spirit is a frequent flyer program that offers reward travel on every flight, without blackout dates. Domestic rewards begin with 15,000 miles and Caribbean rewards begin at 20,000 miles. As a member of the nine dollar fare club, customers will have preferred access to low, member-only specials from Spirit and other travel partners. (more) Spirit Air 1/2

The packages offer a combination of services that include airfare, car rental and hotel stays. The airline prides itself on having the newest fleet of Airbus aircraft in the Americas.
