    6. Participants in Hockey Past vs. Present Past The pie charts below show how hockey has grown from a male dominated sport , to shared gender sport.
      • Offside- You are not allowed to skate into offenders zone before the puck is in the offenders zone , the puck must cross the line before the player can enter
      • Two line pass- An offside pass, you cannot pass through 2 lines when your player is in the offenders zone.
      • Tripping- your not allowed to trip your opponent using stick, leg or arm.
      • Hooking- When a player prevents a player from completing a play by hooking then with their stick .
      • Cross checking –When a player picks up their stick and holds it with two hands to check an opponent .
      • Icing- when a player behind the red line in their end shoots the puck pass the goal line in his offensive zone, then the puck is brought back the players zone for a face off.
    7. Hockey is not only a sport but can also become an occupation. Today some people play and train for hockey in hope for it to one day become their career It is seen as an honour to go to the Olympics and represent your country, A male and female team from most countries get a chance to do this. At the last winter Olympics Canada was lucky to have both the female and male hockey teams bring home gold metals
      • - Hockey could be bettered if all injuries were prevented, since this is impossible we must stress the rules of hockey so there are less accidents
      • - Hockey could also be bettered if the professional players acting more like role models, and played the game safe ( wearing the right equipment , playing safe , no fighting or retaliation)
      • Hockey could lastly be bettered if the equipment to all age groups was enforced, cages and mouth guards.
