20. Serve the City Manifesto
There’s a line in every city that
separates the rich from the poor, the
strong from the weak,
the haves from the have-nots.
It’s a street, the train tracks,
the river, a sidewalk.
21. Serve the City Manifesto
On one side there is safety,
on the other there is danger.
On one side there is security,
on the other, fear.
22. Serve the City Manifesto
On one side kids go to college, work
pays well, needs are hidden behind
drawn curtains
and consumable goods.
On the other life is pretty raw.
24. Serve the City Manifesto
Serve the City sends volunteers
to show kindness in practical ways
to people in need.
We partner with homeless shelters,
refugee centers, orphanages, and other
associations, and invite volunteers to offer
practical help and support.
25. Serve the City Manifesto
Serve the City projects are often simple:
sports, music, arts and crafts,
language courses, games with children,
serving food, and cutting hair.
We are the connection between the
good intentions of people who could
serve and a meaningful opportunity to
make a difference
26. Serve the City Manifesto
And that’s where it starts.
We cross the line from where we are
and serve.
But that’s not where it stops.
27. Serve the City Manifesto
The dream of Serve the City is everyone
serving.
As quickly as possible we invite those
we have served
To join us in serving the next time.
28. Serve the City Manifesto
Serve the City is for everyone.
It’s a revolution, a serving revolution.
And it’s going to change the world.
We know them by their needs.
What if we knew them by name?
29. Serve the City Manifesto
Cross the line.
Serve the City.
