  • How many of you have started a startup before? How many of you have failed?Well, so today you will know what we are talking about.I’m Edward, the CEO and co-founder of StartitUp, an interactive and social learning platform for startups. And we’re here to help startups build successful businesses.
  • There 600,000 new online businesses every year
  • So let me tell you a story about why we are trying to help startups. In 2009, I started my first company, Swagly. In the beginning I had this brilliant idea, so the first thing that came to my mind was to “just build it”.Does that sound familiar to you?
  • 1. I was a pretty bad coder then so I had to outsource my website.2. We also didn’t go out to validate our idea, we were in stealth mode3. We ended up with a complex product with the wrong features. Sound familiar anybody?
  • 1. We were featured on Techcrunch, and people were excited about it.2. But in the end it didn’t work out. Wasted time and money.3. Did this happen to you too? There are too many others just like me.
  • 1. People say failures teach you a lot more than successes. I agree with that. Through that experience, I had a transformation2. I became a serious Lean Startup practitioner, an expert on SEO and content marketing, and I even went on to help other startups.3. I also became the CEO of National Division at Groupon Taiwan, and I did a great job.3. And today, we want to scale that effort, that’s why we’ve built StartitUp, an Online school for startups.4. We’re the virtual startup mentor by your side, taking you from idea to success.
  • So what the online school is made out of is…We break this huge daunting startup business down into a step-by-step interactive course, which is based on the Lean Startup, and proven methods from case studies and experts. – So it’s super easy to start, and we keep everything on record, so even if you have a full time job, you can track your progress and come back when you want. And also, we prefer showing and not telling, so we guarantee results. – No coding required!Plus: You don’t even need to know how to code.
  • A virtual classroom for startups
  • And now I want to show you 3 slides of StartitUpSee what others have done, and what you can learn from.
  • It has 5 main sections, from having an idea, to validating it, to building it, to growing it, and to funding it.
  • We believe in showing and not telling.Say for instance, this task would help you get your first 100 early adopters to help you get started
  • Our target market are
  • It’s a niche market, but we already got 1200+ startups. At any given time, at least 25% of the users are coming back week after week.
  • We know that this is a very real problem, because there are others similar to us that are doing well.Plus, entrepreneurship is on the rise, because unemployment rate is higher than ever. However we’re the only one that has a build-centric course from beginning to end. And we’re social. And we’re not just a e-learning platform, we’re an e-building platformSo everything sounds great…
  • From raw data on the internet, the market is actually a lot bigger than we imagine. We are looking at 822,000 websites created a day, and 300 million created a year.
  • We’re also thinking about other revenue sourcesPartnerships – where we could partner up with other services for revenue splitUpselling – providing additional startup services.

  • We’re looking for startup lovers to join the movement. If you want to help, go to startitup.co, register, and start helping! We already had some traction, and our users love what we are doing. We want to continue to build other startup tools for our users. So next time you start or fund a business, remember that there is now a better way than to “just build it”. If you want to talk to me later, I am the guy with the Iron man tshirt.
