  • 15. Check In Info 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. <ul><li>Check in is obligatory for all athletes! </li></ul><ul><li>You must check in your bike and your transition bags. Otherwise those items will not be available during the Race. </li></ul><ul><li>Non-checked material can not be used in the Race. </li></ul><ul><li>Check-in closes at 8:00 p.m.! </li></ul><ul><li>Bike Park will be guarded by security overnight </li></ul>

BIB Number <ul><li>As an athlete, make sure your start number is visible at all times </li></ul><ul><li>Swim: Number on the swimcap (don ‘ t take the BIB Number for the Swim ) </li></ul><ul><li>Bike: 3 stickers x on helmet, 1 sticker x on bike, the BIB Number on your back </li></ul><ul><li>Running: BIB Number on your front </li></ul>
  • 26. 05:00 a.m. – 6:45 a.m. Before Start <ul><li>Saturday Check In from 5:00 a.m. t o 6:45 a.m. </li></ul><ul><li>Let the timing team mark you arms in the Bike Park </li></ul><ul><li>Hand in your STREETWEAR bag at the relaxing zone to the volunteers (close to Swim Start Area) </li></ul><ul><li>Wear your Swimcap </li></ul><ul><li>Enter the start area passing the timing mat so that we can control who enters the race </li></ul><ul><li>Remove place yourself in the Start section corresponding to your estimated swim time (Pros will start in the first row) </li></ul><ul><li>Give the full warm up time . End 6:55 a.m. </li></ul><ul><li>Sandals / Shoes are not allowed in the Start Area </li></ul>

Bike 100km ATTENTION <ul><li>Follow the signs of the Olympic race (blue arrows) . </li></ul><ul><li>Attention: at 14.5miles you have to go left while the course for the Olympic racers turns right. There are YELLOW signs indicating this. Later it will be blue signs again for the rest of the course. </li></ul>

Transition 2 Bike  Run <ul><li>Dismount your bike before entering the Bike Park </li></ul><ul><li>Rack your bike in order of arrival: first empty rack </li></ul><ul><li>Pick-up your RUN bag, change in the tent </li></ul><ul><li>Put your Bike gear in the RUN bag and DROP - OFF your bag when leaving the tent </li></ul><ul><li>Start the Run </li></ul>

You received a penalty? <ul><li>If you received a penalty, go to the P ENALTY area and wait until the end of your penalty (countdown starts once you stop insulting the referees) </li></ul><ul><li>The p enalty area is located at the entry of the tent </li></ul><ul><li>After the penalty: change &amp; start the run! </li></ul>

Check Out Process <ul><li>You need your Start Number + Athlete Wristband to check out </li></ul><ul><li>Pickup your Transition Bags first </li></ul><ul><li>Then get your Bike </li></ul><ul><li>Volunteers will take back your bike timing chip </li></ul><ul><li>When entering the Park, hand in your timing chip </li></ul><ul><li>No Chip = No Bike! (lost chips are $30) </li></ul>

Star Night <ul><li>Shuttle leaving at 6:00 p.m. </li></ul><ul><li>Star Party aboard the Empress on the St. Croix River </li></ul><ul><li>Buffet, Animations </li></ul><ul><li>Awards Ceremony and prizes </li></ul><ul><li>for the top 3 in each Age Group </li></ul><ul><li>Celebrate your success with family and friends (get tickets at Star&amp;Co village for them – yours is included in your entry!) </li></ul>
  • 47. Rules &amp; Regulations FOR A SAFE &amp; FAIR RACE
  • 48. General Rules <ul><li>It is forbidden to: </li></ul><ul><li>Cut or fold your start number </li></ul><ul><li>Get help from third parties </li></ul><ul><li>Get race provisions outside of the official Energy Stations </li></ul>
  • 49. SWIM Rules <ul><li>It is not allowed to swim with your race number </li></ul><ul><li>Wetsuits are not allowed if </li></ul><ul><li>the water temp erature is above 78°Fahrenheit </li></ul><ul><li>The wetsuit must be taken back to the transition area </li></ul>
  • 50. BIKE rules <ul><li>Drafting is forbidden. </li></ul><ul><li>The helmet must be worn at all times with the chinstrap closed. </li></ul><ul><li>The race number must be visibly worn on your lower back. </li></ul><ul><li>Respect the rule of the road. </li></ul><ul><li>Keep on the right. Do not cut corners ! </li></ul><ul><li>Escorting (car, motobike, bike, ...) and assistance are forbidden. </li></ul>
  • 51. No Drafting <ul><li>The distance between two athletes ( Drafting zone ) is 7x2m (The longer sides of the zone begin at the leading edge of the front wheel and run backward parallel to the bicycle); for PROs/Elite it&apos;s 10x2m . See the USAT regulations here . </li></ul><ul><li>If you enter in this zone without passing the athlete in front, you will have a 2 minutes penalty (Stop and Go). </li></ul><ul><li>2nd offense = Disqualification </li></ul>
  • 52. RUN rules <ul><li>Wear the race number visibly at your front </li></ul><ul><li>If you use a start number belt, wear it on your waistline </li></ul><ul><li>Do not run without a shirt </li></ul><ul><li>Escorting (bike, roller, runner,...) and assistance are forbidden </li></ul>
  • 53. General Rule <ul><li>A referees decision shall be final. </li></ul><ul><li>Or: </li></ul><ul><li>Protests must be handed 60 minutes after finishing the event at an official race referee with the provided form together </li></ul><ul><li>Protest forms are available in the race office at Star&amp;Co </li></ul>
  • 54. What if... QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
  • 55. If ... <ul><li>You lose your timing chip, notify a volunteer to obtain a new one . </li></ul><ul><li>You need to give up , let a refereee know you give up and bring your timing chip to the Info booth at Star&amp;Co Village . Your family might ask us at the Info point – you are obliged to tell us what happened. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Also let us know if you come back to the race area or if you ‘ ll be back in your hotel. </li></ul></ul>
