  • What is it?
    Quick weight loss programs are also called fad diets
    Some of the most popular diets are the Adkins, South Beach, Scarsdale, Zone, Metabolism, Grapefruit, and Cabbage Soup diets
  • Being overweight or obese increases the risk of heart disease, cancers diabetes, bone and joint problems and surgical risks.
    And ideal BMI is 20-25
    Overweight is a BMI of 24-29
    Obesity Class II is a BMI 30-40
    Obesity Class III is more than a BMI of 40
  • ADKINS
    The Adkins Diet is a popular low carb. diet but it is high in fat and it has prompted health concerns, the Adkins diet can result in more weight loss than other diets
    The Adkins Diet restricts fruits and vegetables, and restricts whole grains.
  • SOUTH BEACH
    You have rapid weight loss in phase I of the diet which is two weeks long.
    During phase I and II you only lose one or two more pounds.
  • SCARSDALE
    A two week diet
    Only 1,000 calories per day
    Can cause damage to your kidneys
  • Other risky diets
    The Metabolism, Grapefruit, zone and Cabbage Soup diets all provide weight loss too quickly due to the low amount of calories consumed
  • The better option
    If you want to lose weight and keep it off;
    Reduce your portion sizes
    Exercise
    Follow the food pyramid
    These small lifestyle changes can have a bigger pay off in the long run
