      • IF DEFENCE WISHES TO REDUCE THE LOGISTIC FOOTPRINT AND TAKE LESS RISK ON LOGISTIC DECISIONS SO THAT THE TEMPO OF OPERATIONS ARE MAINTAINED AS IT WOULD WISH, IT MUST LOOK AT HOW IT CONTROLS SUPPORT TO EQUIPMENT FROM INCEPTION TO DISPOSAL. ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST KNOW THEIR PLACE IN THE DEFENCE END TO END SUPPLY CHAIN WITHOUT CONFUSION.

      • AND IF INDUSTRY WISHES TO CONTINUE PROVIDING SUPPORT AS FAR FORWARD AS POSSIBLE THE TRAINING OF ITS PERSONNEL, KNOWLEDGE OF THE ENTIRE MILITARY SYSTEM AND UNDERSTANDING HOW BEST TO ESTABLISH SUPPORT THAT MINIMISES DRAG TO THE LOGISTIC EFFORT AND INCREASES EFFICIENCIES FOR EQUIPMENT SUPPORT. THIS CAN ONLY BE ACHIEVED THROUGH MANY WELL MANAGED PARTNERSHIPS.
    15. ARE OPERATIONS DIFFERENT?
      • THE PRINCIPLES REMAIN THE SAME IN PEACE AND ON EXERCISE
      • ALL EXERCISES SHOULD TEST LOGISTICS AS IF IT WAS FOR REAL
      • IF INDUSTRY SUPPORTS A BASE IN THE HOMELAND – IT SHOULD PROVIDE THE SAME SUPPORT ON OPERATIONS
      • OPERATIONAL COMMANDERS MUST UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF AND FACILITATE AN ACCURATE LOGISTIC PICTURE
    16. ARE OPERATIONS DIFFERENT?
      • AND LOGISTIC COMMANDERS MUST DEVELOP PLANS AND PROCESS THAT NEGATE:
        • LOCAL STOCKPILING
        • POOR ACCOUNTING
