Alexander Lukashenko

  1. 1. Alexander Lukashenko has been serving asthe President of Belarus since 20 July1994. The president of National Olympiccommittee of Republic of Belarus (from1997), the commander-in-chief of Armedforces and the chairman of the board ofsafety of Republic of Belarus.
  2. 2. Alexander Lukashenko was born on August30, 1954 in the village Kopys of the Orshanskyregion of Vitebsk area. After the birth ofAlexander, his mother started working as amilkmaid.He was brought up without the father.
  3. 3. In 1975 it graduated from department of historyof the Mogilyov teacher training collegemajoring in «the teacher of history and socialscience», and in 1985 — in absentia economicsdepartment of the Belarusian agriculturalacademy as «an economist-organizer ofagricultural production»
  4. 4. From 1975 to 1977 Lukashenko served in Bordertroops of KGB of the USSR. Alexander married in 1975 with Galina Jelnerovich. Now he has 3 children and 5 grandsons.
  5. 5. In period of "reorganization" in 1990it was elected the Peoples Deputyof the Supreme Council of Belarus.In April 1993 — July, 1994Lukashenko headed the temporarycommission of the Supreme Councilon fight against corruption
  6. 6. On January 21, 2011 AlexanderLukashenko officially entered aposition of the president ofRepublic of Belarus in thefourth time.Western mass media often callAlexander «the last dictator ofEurope».
  7. 7. In 2006 the European Union, and then and theUSA forbade it entrance on the territories. In2008 action of a ban on entrance wassuspended. In January, 2011 Poland forbade itentry into the country. In April, 2011 Council ofEU prolonged till October 31, 2011 a ban onentrance to EU of president Lukashenko and 35more officials.
