  3. 3. Padre Pio’s Early Life <ul><li>Padre Pio’s birth name was Fransesco Forgione. </li></ul><ul><li>Born in Pieltrecina, Italy on May 25 th in 1887. </li></ul><ul><li>He was the son of Grazio Forgione. </li></ul><ul><li>Table of contents </li></ul>
  4. 4. Padre Pio’s Middle Life <ul><li>Started practicing the priesthood as a Capuchin and took the name of Padre Pio. He was ordained a priest on August 10 th , 1910. </li></ul><ul><li>After mass one day, he was doing my Thanksgiving in front of a crucifix. Then, I noticed I had the same wounds as Jesus after he was crucified. This is called a stigmata. </li></ul><ul><li>Table of contents </li></ul>
  5. 5. The Conclusion of his Life <ul><li>After hosting confession fifty years later early in the morning, he died of sickness. Up until his death, they had been scars from the stigmata. When people found him dead, the scars were gone. </li></ul><ul><li>Table of contents </li></ul>

Amazing Events <ul><li>Throughout his life, it was said that Mary and Jesus appeared to him in dreams. </li></ul><ul><li>He received the very first stigmata of a priest ever in the history of the Catholic Church. </li></ul><ul><li>One June 20 th 2000, he cured a seven year old boy named Matteo Pio Colella. After his mom attended a prayer vigil he woke from his coma. He said a man (meaning Padre Pio) appeared to him and said, “You will soon be cured.” This miracle led to his canonization, </li></ul><ul><li>Table of contents </li></ul>
