  1. 1. Introduction to NETS for Students Grades K-2 Creative Project Ideas to meet Student Performance Standards Presentation by: Stephanie Ritter

Engage in learning activities with learners from multiple cultures through email and other electronic means (2,6) <ul><li>Students could collaborate with partners from different cultures online using epals to compare the similarities and differences of their cultures. </li></ul><ul><li>Through asking questions and sharing information students will creatively display a chart or graph for a class presentation. </li></ul>Our similarities Family is important We both like pizza We go to school everyday

Illustrate and communicate original ideas and stories using digital tools and media-rich resources (1,2) <ul><li>Students are to work in pairs snapping images with a digital camera to accompany an original fiction story. </li></ul><ul><li>Stories will be typed using googledocs and content should be based on topics relevant to curriculum such as recycling, nutrition, physical education, tolerance, etc. </li></ul>
  4. 4. Demonstrate safe and cooperative use of technology (1) <ul><li>Students could be given computer time individually or with a partner to demonstrate safe and cooperative use. </li></ul><ul><li>Safe technology use could also be modeled through their use of digital cameras. </li></ul>

Find and evaluate information related to a current or historical person or event using digital resources (3) <ul><li>Students could choose a significant person from a list of given names to write a research paper on. </li></ul><ul><li>Research could be done using the internet in class with guidelines on how to determine credible online resources. </li></ul>
