  3. 10. 9a4 <ul><li>Hadley cells distribute heat around the world. The air temperature at the equator is very hot, this causes low pressure bands that allow warm air to rise. As the warm air rises cooler air gets sucked in to replace the rising air. This cooler air is also heated and begins to rise. As it rises it takes out the air that rose before it and pushes it to the north and south of the equator. This cool air now sinks back down to the ground around the tropic of Cancer and Capricorn. </li></ul>
  4. 11. 9b1 <ul><li>Hadley cells spread heat around our atmosphere which drives our weather. At the equator warm air is allowed to rise. As the warm air rises the water vapour in it condenses to form clouds. Cool air either side of the equator gets sucked in to replace the rising air. This cooler air gets warmed by the heat concentrated at the equator. This rising warm air pushed the now cooler drier air out the way and it heads north and south towards the poles. The cooler air starts to sink around the Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn. This process now repeats itself over and over again. </li></ul>
