  • I’m not an expert by any means. Hoping to learn as much from you all in the chat. But do want to share my experiences with you. Shoot, ready, aim. Explore some information. My situation: no eReaders except BPHS Kobos and Sonora iPads. Kobo Readers, Gale Virtual Reference Library, FollettShelf and Overdrive. No endorsement of any one product. You can go out and search out contact info, trial info, pricing. Put anything you know in chat. eBooks rather than audio books. I Centre

  • Does this look like something?
  • Steve Jobs has had a lot of impact. But what do the eBook companies use?
  • Adobe Digital Editions is ebook reader software from Adobe Systems built using Adobe Flash. It is used for acquiring, managing and reading eBooks, digital newspapers, and other digital publications. The software supports PDF, XHTML (through the nonproprietary .EPUB file type specification), and Flash-based content. It implements a proprietary scheme of Digital Rights Management, which since version 1.5 (May 2008) allows document sharing between multiple computers and user authentication through Adobe ID. Adobe Digital Editions is a successor to Adobe eBook Reader.[1]
  • Kindle and Nook – devices per email address
  • Do you want to lighten students’ backpacks? No more textbooks?
  • Wont work if no juice. Will students be as vigilant about keeping their eReaders charged as they do their iPods?
  • What happens when they crack?
  • Do eReaders make students want to read more?
  • Does it make your library easier to transport?
  • Are they really cheaper? And if not, shouldn’t we be providing eReaders to ALL Students for equity of access? Do ALL Students have the ability to buy an $800 Ipad? A $200 Nook or Kindle?
  • What if this is what you have? And you have a lot of them like I do?

She has done "KingArthur and His Knights of the Round Table" byThomas Malory for years, but now has to take itoff her list because she must now use iPads forreading and instruction, and this title is notavailable as an ebook( I know; adiscussion for another time). So, please suggest any excellent Arthurian booksfor middle school students that can bedownloaded as an ebook.”
