Pitchside advertising – stadiums sell advertising space on boards

Trackside advertising – Larger companies will advertise at bigger events.

Television fees – Teams sell TV rights to companies so they can broadcast events. Companies make this money back from sponsorship and advertisement while the game is on.

Deals with kit suppliers. Sponsorships on kits.

Games sponsors will have a place on a programme. Some programmes will also sell off advertising space.

Advertising and sponsorship of individual athletes

Big companies will sponsor whole events.

Money is made by selling tickets, and by the fans buying merchandise at the stadium.

Clubs and teams will have merchandise to sell, including replica kits.

It was estimated that 3 billion people watched the Athens Olympics in 2004 and that Beijing is aiming for 4 billion!!!
