    2. The tools of “the read-write web” will dramatically impact education as we know it. This presentation demonstrates how virtual learning environments, such as Moodle, can be used to not only support reading and writing, but to empower students and create exciting new learning opportunities.
      • In regard to reading and writing, this presentation will focus on:
      • Uses of standard Moodle-based tools
      • Integration of other Web 2.0 tools within Moodle-based VLEs

    15. Moodle is an open source, e-learning platform or Virtual Learning Environment. Moodle is designed to help educators create online learning spaces that allows for rich interaction. Allows for embedding or linking to Web 2.0 tools.
      • Moodle-based VLEs provide a walled garden
      • Teacher controls who has access to the garden
