10. 10. Co-opetition: The Emerging Trend In Global Space Exploration Strategy FINDINGS AND CONCLUSION:

The dawn of the new century has inspired the space faring nations to advance exploration programs both at the national and international levels.

The existing space exploration frameworks and agreements are still derived from the Cold War era and hence do not reflect the current world political landscape and technological capabilities of the nations.

On May 31, 2007, fourteen international space agencies signed the “ The Global Exploration Strategy: The Framework for Coordination” (the Framework Document) for sustainable space exploration.

Understanding Space Exploration through a systematic value chain and competitive assessment frameworks is essential

United States is poised to lead a sustainable space exploration program that involves both commercial and national participation by various companies and institutions to advance competitiveness, innovation, scientific discoveries and technology breakthroughs in an increasingly knowledge based society.

A coordinated global collaborative mechanism, where US maintains its preeminent position but collaborates with other space faring nations, is imperative for a sustainable and peaceful space exploration that is both inspirational and beneficial to all of humanity
