Using the directional keys, highlight “SYSTEM” </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>3. Press “Enter” </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>4. Using the directional keys, highlight the correct dish assembly </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>5. Press “Enter” (if applicable) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>6. Set up a Super Sat buddy meter for the correct dish assembly. </li></ul><ul><li>3. Place the dish assembly on the mast. </li></ul><ul><li>4. Connect an RG6 coaxial cable jumper between the Super Sat Buddy meter and the switch or LNBF. </li></ul>

Using the Super Sat Buddy meter, point the dish. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Using the LCD soft keys, select LNB. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>This provides power to the LNBF. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Use the directional keys (Up and Down only) to change to an STB Health transponder (upper-right on the LCD screen) for the correct orbital location. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>If necessary, use the LCD soft keys to select LNB to change to the correct orbital location. </li></ul></ul></ul>

Point and Peak the Dish (Pg 3) <ul><ul><li>While slowly adjusting the Azimuth, attempt to obtain a dBm value between 29dBm and 36dBm. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>While slowly adjusting the Azimuth, maximize the IRD value. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Using the LCD soft keys, select ID to lock the orbital location. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>This ensures the dish assembly is pointed at the correct satellite. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Using the LCD soft keys, select LNB to change orbital locations. </li></ul></ul>
  8. 8. Point and Peak the Dish (Pg 4) <ul><ul><li>If necessary, repeat steps to point the dish. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Tighten the dish assembly to the mast. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>6. Using the Super Sat Buddy meter, peak the dish. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Lightly loosen (just enough to make fine adjustments) the skew or elevation bolts. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Repeat the steps used to point a dish to obtain a dBm value between 29dBm and 36dBm. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Repeat the steps used to point a dish to maximize the IRD value. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Tighten all bolts. </li></ul></ul>

To simultaneously check a set of transponders on an orbital location, use the “Limit Scan” feature. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Use the Zip/Postal feature to enter your ZIP Code. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Using the LCD soft keys, select “Menu.” </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Using the directional keys, highlight “Limit Scan.” </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Press “Enter.” </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Using the LCD soft keys, select “Edit.” </li></ul></ul>

Limit Scan Feature (Pg 2) <ul><ul><li>Using the LCD soft keys, select “Use ZIP.” </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>This sets the limit scan for your area. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Using the LCD soft keys, select “Done.” </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>To cycle through the orbital locations, use the LCD soft keys and select LNB. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>The measured results and a “Pass” or “Fail” message will display. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Using the LCD soft keys, select “Exit” twice. </li></ul></ul>

Check complete system health by performing a limit scan at the dish assembly and each receiver location. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>If the test results vary greatly from receiver location to the dish assembly, use the “Certified Quality Job Aid” to troubleshoot the issue. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>If the limit scan results are lower than when you peaked the dish, repeak the dish. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>The dish alignment changed by tightening the bolts. </li></ul></ul></ul>
  12. 12. Proof of Performance Test <ul><li>The Proof of Performance Test (PoP Scan) feature collects and stores signal level and quality data for later transfer to a PC for reporting. Use this feature to document the quality of an installation as part of your Super Sat Buddy meter certification. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Using the LCD soft keys, select “Menu.” </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Using the directional keys, highlight “PoP Scan.” </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Press “Enter.” </li></ul></ul>
