  2. 2. <ul><li>Expressed Power- One actually spelled out in the Constitution Ex. Establish Post Offices or Declare War </li></ul><ul><li>Commerce and Money- Type of Expressed power that deals with money or regulating trade ex. Collect Taxes or Coin Money </li></ul><ul><li>Implied Power- Power that is suggested from an expressed power Ex. Collect Taxes/Implies you can punish tax evaders! </li></ul><ul><li>Non-legislative powers- Powers dealing with topics other than lawmaking. Ex. Impeachment/removal </li></ul>CONGRESS I ONAL POWERS

The Objective: <ul><li>Working in groups of 3 or 4 create a comic book for class that illustrates and explains in your own words at least 10 powers that our Congress has: </li></ul><ul><li>Money and Commerce (260-269) </li></ul><ul><li>Other Expressed Powers (270-273) </li></ul><ul><li>Implied Powers/necessary and Proper Clause (275-278) </li></ul><ul><li>Non-Legislative Powers (279-282) </li></ul>

Assignment Guidelines: <ul><li>Due: 7 th Hour- Wednesday April 21 st </li></ul><ul><li>6 th Hour- Thursday April 22 nd </li></ul><ul><li>2 nd Hour- Monday April 26 th </li></ul>Comic Books will be graded on your groups ability to illustrate an understanding of the powers that Congress Possesses as well as your group’s ability to creatively represent these ideas!
