  2. 2. Do’s and Don’tof Business Attire<br />As I am sure we all know, work is not a fashion show. However it is appropriate to want to look your best when you go to work. Here are some key points to keep in mind<br />Always<br /><ul><li>Consider your climate-do not over dress or underdress.
  3. 3. Consider what kind of work you will be doing.
  4. 4. If you do not know your companies dress code, always ask.
  5. 5. Consider the occasion-are you going to a daytime business meeting or an evening dinner.
  6. 6. Dress for the job you want, not the job you have</li></ul>Never<br /><ul><li>Wear to much jewelry-women should wear no more than 7 pieces, men should only wear a watch, wedding band and simple chain.
  7. 7. Wear to much perfume-keep your coworkers in mind, some people are allergic to it.
  8. 8. Wear any body piercings or show any of your tattoos while working.
  9. 9. Wear clothes that are to revealing-always try to be conservative. </li></li></ul><li>Men’s: Formal<br /><ul><li>If your dress code is formal here are a few things men should keep in mind….
  10. 10. Two-Piece suits are usually what is expected.
  11. 11. Always wear a tie.
  12. 12. If you want to incorporate color, do so in your shirt and tie.
  13. 13. It is always safer to go with a black, dark blue, or grey suit.
  14. 14. Always make sure that your socks match your pants.
  15. 15. Always keep your shoes well polished.</li></li></ul><li>Men's: Casual<br /><ul><li>If your dress code is geared more towards Business Casual then men have a range of different options that are considered acceptable.

  17. 17. Dress pants with a nice shirt and tie.

  19. 19. Some companies even find khaki’s and a polo shirt to be acceptable casual attire</li></li></ul><li>Women’s:Formal<br /><ul><li>If you work for a company with a formal dress code, as a women there are certain guidelines to follow…

  21. 21. Pencil skirts are becoming more popular with a dress shirt.
  22. 22. Pants suits are also acceptable.
  23. 23. Skirts should always be an appropriate length.
  24. 24. If you wear makeup, it should be natural looking.
  25. 25. Hair should always look neat and combed out of your face.</li></li></ul><li>Women’s: Casual<br /><ul><li>When women have the ability to dress casual they have many options when it comes to what is accepted.
  26. 26. A pair of slacks is common, as well as short sleeve blouses
  27. 27. Sweaters and turtle necks
  28. 28. Also casual skirts, just be sure that again, the length is appropriate
  29. 29. Sundresses and sandals are never appropriate for work
  30. 30. However, a fitted short sleeve dress is acceptable

A flat shoe is also accepted when dress code is casual but sneakers are never appropriate </li></li></ul><li>In recent years, the people of the business world have been incorporating more color in their work attire to better reflect their personalities. It has been growingly popular for men to wear brighter shirts and ties, and also for woman to explore different color pant and dress suits.<br />
