• Now we would like to introduce you to our new system for reinforced soil walls…the PC or Positive Connection System.
  • The slot allows us to wrap a 12” wide strip of geogrid through the block. The top and bottom legs extend the full length back into the reinforced soil zone.
  • Here you can see an installation of two rows of PC blocks. Top and Bottom Layer = 25% CoverageMiddle Layers = 50% Coverage

    25. 25. Installation
StoneTree ®Walls are installed with AFTEC’s proprietary Rigid Footing Support system

The standard footing spacing is 15 foot / 4.5 meters on center.
    26. 26. A rigid structural support is embedded into the footing and protrudes up at least half of the height of the wall.
    27. 27. Designed for all applicable engineering requirements including wind load, soil and seismic conditions.

Installation
Benefits of the Rigid Support System:

NO BRACING OR SHORINGduring installation. This provides the safest environment and results in the most stable method of installing a precast concrete fence-wall.
    28. 28. NO GROUTINGof columns and/or footings. In other systems this cannot take place until after the fence columns are set in place, which creates an unstable condition until the grout has cured.
    29. 29. STONETREE ® FOOTINGSwith Rigid Footing Supports self aligns each wall section as they are set in place which increases the speed of the installation process.

Installation
Once the footings have been constructed, the column and panel wall sections are brought to the fence line to be set in place.
The column end is set over the I-beam support while as the same time interlocking with the panel end already in place, creating a tongue and groove intersection.
The wall is then aligned between the structural supports, lowered into position and the rigging is removed.
Upon completion of the installation, caps are fixed in place to seal the columns. Coloring can be applied using concrete stains and sealers.
