A re-run and updating of a talk i gave at Brunel University 3 years ago - this is a keynote delivered at Free State University, Bloemfontein, South Africa, August 2011. I argue that, to the external observer, there is little to differentiate good and bad use of technology in learning - the difference must be in the purpose, underlying philosophy and the pedagogy of the learning, and the teaching, that is taking place.
