Repeated actions in the past: ie habits : "we went to the beach every summer when I was a child". Actions that happened quickly after each other: "When I arrived they turned off the television and listened to me talking." Reported Speech - “he said that she told him he was the most handsome man she’d ever met” 2: present perfect : formed with the present tense of the verb to have + the past participle when we talk about an action in the past that relates to today
