    • iBeacon Platform : Getting Started Guide 1 twitter: @localsocial blog: blog.mylocalsocial.com
    • This guide is intended to help you get started with the LocalSocial platform and take it for a test drive Welcome to the BeacoSystem!™ ‣ You need Beacons • To try it “for real” - to see the proximity behaviour in action, you need some beacons. • If you don’t have any - stop now and contact us. ‣ If you do • Great! Let’s get started…. 2
    • Here’s what we mean by… First - Some Terminology (part 1) 3 Term Meaning Location A shop or any physical venue; you might just have one shop, or several. We call them “Locations”. Why? Because some use cases are about Galleries, or Train Stations, or Parks - not shops! So - Location gives us a more flexible term for any given physical space. ShopZone An area within your location - such as a “Pasta Aisle”, “Modern Art” or “Ticket Kiosk”. Anywhere where you’d like to be able to promote specific offers, display product information, grant awards, trigger greetings or gain insight regarding customer behaviour and movements. Product Card A bundle of digital information about a product. This includes a set of up to three images, with a title and text for each, plus some optional links to video, twitter accounts and websites. Beacon LocalSocial can recognise hardware “beacons” of various kinds, which it uses to drive the proximity behaviour. A beacon might be an Apple iBeacon (most ypical), but the platform also supports other forms of Beacon.
    • Here’s what we mean by… First - Some Terminology (part 2) 4 Term Meaning Promotion An offer that you might wish to make available at one or more ShopZones or Locations. Proximity Lock A promotion can be locked so that it is only available (redeemable) within a given ShopZone or Location. Loyalty Points Points that might be awarded for being in a specific Location or ShopZones. A reward “just for being there”. Welcome Message A message that can be displayed in-app on arrival at a Location. We’ll take a quick look at how each of these look in the LocalSocial app…
    • Location 5 Locations show up on home screen like this Colours mean - it’s in proximity (see later)
    • ShopZone 6 Tap on a Location, and you have an option to see the ShopZones it contains Colours mean - it’s in proximity (see later)
    • Product Card 7 A set of images, text and links to present digital product information Up to three swipe-able images for a given product card “pack”
