What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
DEVELOPMENT HELL LTD IS AN INDEPENDENT MAGAZINE PUBLISHING COMPANY IN THE UK. THEY WOULD PUBLISH CLUB IT MAGAZINE BECAUSE;
Development Hell Ltd. My magazine has a similar target audience to magazines they are publishing currently such as mixmag. There is a shortage in magazines based on a disco dance/ clubland genre of music. The magazine could be sold in the same places as their existing magazines are selling.
SHOPS- NEWSAGENTS, SUPERMARKETS, PETROL STATIONS.
SERVICES- AIRPORTS, MOTORWAY SERVICES.
STUDENT UNIONS
My magazine could be sold at...
Multi-Platform Consumption Multi-platform consumption of my magazine is important as it allows a wider range of people to access the magazine. I have advertised the webpage for my magazine through the magazine as it is conventional in existing magazines.
THROUGH MULTI-PLATFORM CONSUMPTION MY MAGAZINE WOULD BE;
Advertisement Country spread Advertised in a number of ways; billboards, through other magazines with same producer, on sites used by target audience e.g. facebook Promoted through other media institutions such as TV. E.g. Clubland TV and Mtv dance. Have a magazines own webpage
MY MAGAZINE WOULD ENCOURAGE PULL MEDIA OFF THE AUDIENCE THROUGH MULTI-PLATFORM CONSUMPTION- THEY MAY USE THE WEBPAGE TO VOTE AND LEAVE COMMENTS ABOUT THE MAGAZINE.
ALSO SHOWN IN CONTENTS PAGE- ‘UK’S TOP 5 CLUBS VOTED BY YOU’ THIS IS AUDIENCE INVOLVEMENT (PULL MEDIA) WHICH WOULD HELP TO KEEP THE MAGAZINE SELLING AS THE AUDIENCE DON’T FEEL LIKE THE GENRE OF MUSIC AND ARTICLES ARE BEING PUSHED UPON THEM.
Media 2.0
VIRAL MARKETING AND VIRAL ADVERTISING REFER TO MARKETING TECHNIQUES THAT USE PRE-EXISTING SOCIAL NETWORKS TO PRODUCE INCREASES IN BRAND AWARENESS OR TO ACHIEVE OTHER MARKETING OBJECTIVES (SUCH AS PRODUCT SALES.) I USED THIS WHEN PRODUCING MY MAGAZINE AS;
Viral Marketing I used existing magazines to enable me to create a magazine which I knew would appeal to my target audience. When doing research and planning I listened to input from teenagers to see what they wanted from a magazine.
