    • Guevara Introduction These slides provide short descriptions on information resources. The topics covered are those that would be of interest in philanthropy and nonprofit work. Each slide points out material that may be of specific interest as well as providing a direct link for easy access.

    • Guevara ERIC http://www.eric.ed.gov The Educational Resource Information Center -Database: search for bibliographic records related to Education -Journal articles, books, conference papers, etc. -Some material available in full-text -What Works Clearinghouse and Regional Educational Laboratories collections: evidence reports and scientific research

Data analyzable: -map viewer: data includes district information (race, population, economics, social characteristics,etc). -snapshot report: data from individual school districts (demographics to economics) -profile comparisons: view data from states and by district (poverty status, education, income, etc.)

    • Guevara U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Administration for children and families http://www.acf.hhs.gov/ -Includes information on various programs, including: Headstart, the Children's Bureau and the Office of Family Assistance -Policy Planning section may be of interest, with information on research, data and publications -Includes a listing of programs and a submission form for specific program questions

Includes information on bureau funded reports including the National Survey of Child and Adolescent Well-being(NSCAW).
