Brief Overview• UCLKS Web is comprised of two different systems – Homepage, that is UCLKS.COM – Mailing List, that is UCLKOREANS@GOOGLEGROUPS.COM – E-mail Service, that is MAIL.UCLKS.COM• Homepage (UCLKS.COM) is hosted at OPENCOM.COM – It is a hosting company, so we need to pay them annually.• Mailing List (including E-mail) utilises the GoogleApps (free!) – Google’s one of many services

Hosting Information• Company Name – OPENCOM – URL: http://www.opencom.com/ – ID: <ask-if-you-want-this-info> – PW: <ask-if-you-want-this-info>• Contact Information – T: 1544-4256 – E: firstname.lastname@example.org – F: 02-6442-5411• We are using the Windows NT hosting w/ MS-SQL – Annual Hosting Price = 140,000 KRW as of now (Aug 2011)
GoogleApps• What is it? – Simply, Google provides various useful services to social communities for free! – These include E-mail, Calendar, Docs, Chats, Blog, Mailing list, URL shortner, etc etc – It is exactly the same as the normal Google services, but tailored to a community, for example. • e.g.,) E-mail: http://mail.uclks.com/
Examples• E-Mail – mail.uclks.com• News – news.uclks.com• Docs – docs.uclks.com• Calendar – calendar.uclks.com• Sites – sites.uclks.com• Start – start.uclks.com• Short Link – link.uclks.com• Moderator – moderator.uclks.com N.B.) I’m not going to cover how I have created those services in this PPT slide.
Issues• A BIG BIG concern is how to migrate the existing User’s DB, i.e., user’s login information – They are stored on an MS-SQL database system instead of MySQL, a more popular DBMS.• Various Boards – We are not using the ZeroBoard, a very flexible board platform.• Hosting fees – Linux hosting is more expensive than Windows NT system.
