  • 5. •1918 - Lokmat weekly newpaper was started by Loknayak Bapuji Aney in as a weapon to fight the British imperialism during the freedom movement of India. •When the publication was first started as a handwritten newspaper from Yavatmal. •1971 - Late Shri Jawaharlal Darda launched Lokmat’s first full daily edition on December 15, 1971 from Nagpur, Maharashtra. •Company was incorporated by Late Shri Jawaharlal Darda under the name Lokmat Newspapers Private Limited. •1987 Lokmat Times (English) are published as well.
  • 6. •1997 Lokmat's Yuva Nxt is a forum. • Late 80s and the 90s by focusing on the needs of the readers they improve the quality of newspaper. •1998 – Marathi news website - www.lokmat.com launched . •In 1999 Lokmat Samachar (Hindi). •2000 Sakhi Manch . •2005 – ePaper for Lokmat launched.
  • 7. •Lokmat is published from Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Aurangabad, Nashik, Kolha pur, Jalgaon, Ahmednagar, Solapur, Akola & Panaji and became 5th largest in all India ranking. •2006 – Lifestyle magazine ‘G2, The Global Gujarati’ launched. •2008 - IBN Lokmat goes on air on 6th April 2008. •2010 - Lokmat releases Jetaa, a Marathi film co- produced with RDP in August 2010.
