While original roof plans and aerial photos are great for preliminary rooftop solar designs, they don’t always tell the whole story of what is happening on the roof. The best way to avoid headaches during installation is to get on the roof before the system design is finalized.

You can use this worksheet to help take notes about the roof, its features, and obstructions. Remember, the more information you can get about the roof, the better your final design will be.
