Solaiemes view on Multi-Layer Cloud/SaaS trend - Presentation Transcript

    1. Beyond the “Cloud”. The multi-layer platform ecosystem. Trends. Opportunities
    2. a bit of state of the art… The network bandwidth (fixed and mobile networks) is finally making “remote computing” feasible, with a twist from previous attempts. The “always connected” state is becoming usual. Mash-up’s combining different features from different providers are common, and reduce the cost and time to market of delivering complex solutions. The “platform” emerging as a new business case. Offering pay as you go capabilities: 3rd parties will find and fine tune the final use cases.
    3. the simple picture Web/Mobile/UC Applications (Social Media, CRM, ERP, communications, LBS, etc) API’s to access cloud capabilities (elastic computing, storage, VoIP, locations, maps, etc) “Cloud”
    4. advantages… Shorter Reduced Time to CAPEX Market Affordable try & buy Easier adding additional of feature Features API’s Lots of use cases sharing same capabilities
    5. but…. API’s to access to cloud capabilities (elastic computing, storage, VoIP, locations, maps, etc) The API’s layer is not unidimensional . It’s multi-faceted
    6. the real scenario The real access to cloud capabilities interface is a matrix of the different capabilities and multiple vendors in each section. Developers can use only the ones they need and choose the vendors
    7. Cloud/SaaS… players Here some examples of Cloud/SaaS players in different niches, there are some more niches and growing, and also the number of players in each segment. ECOSYSTEM GROWS, and small start-ups can grow meaningfully. Ex. Social Media & Blogging others Ex. IVR & Voice others Resources Ex. Enterprise others Ex. VoIP and others Ex. Elastic Computing and others & Storage
    8. When big players as Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle- SUN, IBM are coming to this business, are there opportunities for new small players? YES !!! Small players will find niche opportunities with new “features” to be offered as platform/cloud/SaaS model. The ecosystem will be the spearhead of innovation.
    9. Which is the opportunity of leading IT Companies (Accenture, CapGemini, CGI, IBM, HP, Atos, etc) ? Discovering niche features applying with their costumer base to become “platform” and use its own platform to extend the customer base. Additionally IT leading companies will have the chance to acquire small niche players
    10. Can the CARRIERS keep a leading role or they may accept to become a mere dumb pipe ? Carriers have the advantage of being the connectivity providers, they can build their own application layers on top, and offer different use cases using common communication enablers, but they need to cooperate more and faster with ecosystem to avoid loosing their last chance.
    11. possible company growth scenarios Cloud companies will try Feature X Feature X Feature X to grow increasing the player 1 player 2 player N market share in their segment ( horizontal) or IVR becoming new players in IVR cloud player 1 cloud IVR cloud player N additional segments player 2 (vertical). Both approaches can be VoIP VoIP done with internal VoIP player 1 player 2 player N investment or through M&A activity. EC/S EC/S EC/S Player 1 Player 2 Player N
    12. a) Horizontal Focus Some companies will Feature X Feature X Feature X prefer to keep its player 1 player 2 player N focus and grow to become the leader in IVR player 1 IVR IVR player N its segment, it will be player 2 internal growth and external, via merging VoIP VoIP or acquiring VoIP player 1 player 2 player N companies in the same segment / EC/S EC/S EC/S feature offered Player 1 Player 2 Player N
    13. b) Vertical Focus Some companies will Feature X Feature X Feature X prefer to widen their player 1 player 2 player N scope and increase their portolio of platform IVR player 1 IVR IVR player N capabilities offer as a player 2 way to serve better their customers. VoIP VoIP This scenario can be VoIP player 1 player 2 player N reached opening additional R+D lines or EC/S EC/S EC/S merging/acquiring Player 1 Player 2 Player N complementary companies.
    14. facts, summary Cloud/SaaS offers opportunities An scenario of opportunities for: platform companies, appear for small players able to developers using the capbilities offer their solutions as SaaS to offered and also for “clouding the Global Market SW” (i.e: Abiquo) Big IT Players are currently In the next years the outsiders working to adapt their offer, to lead the new paradigm will Instead, the carriers are to slow compete both, growing to adapt to the current trend internally and using M&A
    15. and Solaiemes? Solaiemes has a dual approach (premise & Cloud/SaaS) offering Communication Solutions for Mobility/Convergence/UC trying to be final user device agnostic. Currently we offer: • Multimodal interaction (mobile & web) our platform uses other layers as IVR and voice resources from interoperated premise/cloud vendors. • Live Media Sharing Framework, including mobile to web and web to mobile video-solutions (IP cam, webcam, 3G Videocall, 3G VideoShare). • Push to Talk CRM/Advertisment/ERP/Social Media and mobile and web 2.0 interaction Cloud Solutions , interoperated with PTT leading vendors (NSN, Sonim, etc).
