  • 1. Displaying a YouTube Video on a PowerPoint SlideDirect questions to michael.miller@utsa.eduNote: The following instructions are only pertinent for the 2007 edition ofMicrosoft PowerPoint.1. Find the YouTube video that you need and copy its web address. (i.e.,highlight the address, right click > COPY)2. Open PowerPoint to file of choice. Go to top line of PowerPoint browser.Click DEVELOPER tab3. Find CONTROLS box (second from left in PowerPoint browser)4. Click the small icon in the CONTROLS box with the wrench and hammerpicture (in lower right of tool box).5. Clicking will prompt a list. Scroll down to and select SHOCKWAVE FLASHOBJECT (the list is in alphabetical order).6. The PC cursor will change to a small cross. On your PowerPoint slide, createa perimeter to determine the size of your video.7. The window youve created will have a large X on it. Right click on the windowyouve measured out and select PROPERTIES.8. On the left of screen, a window will appear. Look for "MOVIE" and next to it onright side of vertical line, paste the YouTube address.9. Now edit the address. Here is an example of a YouTube video clip address: http://youtube.com/watch?v=vdQj2ohqCBk&feature=related 1. Delete "watch?" 2. Then delete the = sign. 3. Replace the = sign with a /The web address will then look like this:http://youtube.com/v/vdQj2ohqCBk&feature=relatedThe following video also provides relevant instructions for YouTube clip insertionwith PowerPoint 2007:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hChq5drjQl4&feature=related
